Step 1: Install the QuickBooks Tool Hub

  • Close the QuickBooks application.
  • Download the latest release of the QuickBooks Tool Hub (1.6.0.8).
  • Save the downloaded file with the short file path.

Note:- In case you already have an installed QuickBooks Tool Hub, you can confirm its version. Simply, click on the Home tab and you can see the version at the bottom.

  • Open the QuickBooksToolHub.exe the concerned file you downloaded recently.
  • Continue with the on-screen instructions.
  • Install, and agree to their terms and conditions
  • After the installation process is completed, double-click on the QuickBooks tool hub icon, as you can see in the image below.

Note:- If there is no icon on the desktop or if you are unable to find the icon, click on Windows Start menu, type tool hub and open the program.

Step 2: Run the TLS 1.2 tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub

  • Click on Installation Issues in the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  • Click on QuickBooks TLS 1.2 Tool and hit OK.
  • TLS tool will open and then click on Yes to the EULA Agreement
  • Click on Run and once the tool finishes its process, hit the Exit button.

  • It may take one minute to open. If the file doctor does not open, open it manually.
  • Now, select your company file in the drop-down menu.

    • Select the file and click “Next”.
    • Proceed with the “Allow the connection” and make sure all profiles are checked.
    • Then, click “Next” and name the rule with format QBFirewallException_qbw32.exe and “Finish” it.
  • To create an outbound rule: Follow the same steps mentioned above and just click on “Outbound Rules” this time.

    • The first step is to right-click on Inbound or Outbound Rules
    • Now choose “New Rule” and click on “Port > Next”.
    • Click on the “TCP” section and enter the port numbers aligned with the QuickBooks version you are using. It could be 56728, 55378, or 8019

  • If you are using QuickBooks 2020 or a later version, you need to use the “Dynamic Port” along with 8019. Follow the further on-screen instructions and finally click on “Allow the connection”.
  • Follow the same steps for other QuickBooks executable files and ports. Now, you can restart the PC.

  • Click on Next after you enter the port number.
  • Click on Allow the connection and hit Next.

  • In the Run command, enter msconfig, and hit OK.
  • Click on Normal Startup in the General tab.
  • Click OK and hit Restart on the System Configuration window

  • Close QuickBooks.
  • Open the Task Manager and to do so right-click on the taskbar.

Within the Task Manager, click on the Details tab and select the following background processes and End Task for each:
